The perfect place to relax? A picturesque eco-hotel in the Slovenian mountains, near the village of Jezersko. The entrepreneur Marjan Batagelj and his wife Katja recently opened the beautiful Vila Planinka. Only 23 rooms, bright and designed with a lot of wood, of course from the region. Each room is cosy and individually furnished, restored antiques give the rooms a very special touch, the bathrooms have vegan beauty products.
Exemplary: In the Vila Planinka everything revolves around the topic of sustainability. During the renovation of the house Batagelj attached great importance to harmony between humans and nature, culture and old traditions.
Usually the light is turned off at 11 p.m. to save energy. And to be able to admire the magic starry sky even better. And during the day? Bike trips to the mountains, hikes with Nejc, a mountain guide who knows all the medicinal herbs and patiently explains their effects to the guests, relaxing in the sauna, reading and enjoying the fresh mountain air. You can also accompany the experienced chefs to the farms in the neighborhood and pick up the eggs from the nest yourself, which are then fried for breakfast. All the products used in the kitchen come from the surrounding area. The incredibly delicious menu always depends on what the season has to offer. And the drinking water gushes from a local spring.
